   I have been surfing the net for deaf organizations in Illinois as I am extremely interested in getting involved with the deaf community in Illinois, tuning up my ASL skills and finding out some activities for when my 32 year old brother (who is profoundly deaf since birth) visits from out of state. I just wanted to say thank you for providing such a great site - the calendar is just fantastic. Also if you know of any opportunities that I could volunteer my time to in order to support the deaf community, I would greatly appreciate it. I live approximately 60 miles west of Chicago but my husband and I love to explore Illinois as we've only been here for 4 years. Thanks again for such a wonderful web site!

   I think your Web Site is just far out! Being a new organization, I am amazed how much HDC is doing! Other long known agency who are never in the office and never around when service is need can not come up with such work HDC put in. The deaf individuals who come to my office tells me about the new agency that is in Peoria area, Deaf Center being resourceful and impressive performance in their services.
